Therapy 101
It is completely up to you. With a combination of therapist assessments, interventions, progress reports, and completion of goals, clients are able to evaluate the initial concerns that brought them to State Street Healing, along with possibly uncovering additional concerns. Exploring this can benefit overall mental health.
Therapy can benefit everyone, but it isn't solely beneficial after a traumatic experience, abuse, anxiety, or a major life change. It can also help in everyday life too! Many highly successful people use therapy to be more productive in goal setting and self-acceptance.
State Street Healing is located at 66 Boerum Place in Brooklyn, New York. The mental health clinic is conveniently located at the intersection of downtown Brooklyn, Brooklyn Heights, Boerum Hill, and Cobble Hill. We are open Monday – Friday, 9am – 8pm as well as on Saturday by appointment only. We are easily accessible by multiple subway lines: N, R & W trains (Jay Street – MetroTech Station), 2 & 3 trains (Hoyt Street), A, C & G trains (Hoy-Schermerhorn Streets), and the 4 & 5 trains (Borough Hall).
State Street Healing provides support for New Yorkers of all ages. We offer individual, group, couples, and family therapy for children, adolescents, adults, families, couples, and senior citizens. We also can assist with medication management.
Getting Started
In 48 hours, you will receive an email from our intake coordinator informing you that your referral has been received and is being processed. Once that is received, you will be informed if we take your insurance, what the co-pay is, and your expected time (or wait time) for service.
Therapy is about exploring behaviors, emotions, and thought patterns to help you better understand yourself and make changes that will serve your life and goals. Our clinical staff will take different approaches depending on their assessment of the most appropriate treatment to meet your needs as well as your preferences ,priorities, and goals. But before that happens, you’ll come in for an initial consultation. This will help get you or your family members paired up with the right therapist for you.
State Street Wellness adheres and protects the privacy and confidentiality of all our patients. During the intake process clients are provided with a HeartShare's Privacy Guidelines and HIPPA compliance.
Therapy sessions are typically 30-45 minutes long once a week, but this can vary depending on your personalized care plan. Clients, in most cases, start with a session once a week especially at the beginning of your State Street Healing journey.
Potential clients must complete an intake assessment to determine if they are appropriate for treatment at our clinic. This can be done through our sign-up form (via the pink “Get Started” button). Once you’ve submitted the form, our intake team will be in touch to schedule an initial consultation. After that, if it is determined that State Street Healing can help, we will get you paired with a clinician.
Although Telehealth is available, clients must meet the requirements to be eligible to engage in telehealth sessions. In-person sessions allow a therapist to get to know you better and determine the most effective methods for your needs.
